John Legg - A Life, 16th November 2007

Most members were expecting to be addressed today by Mark Chamberlain’s wife, Alison. However, after much apologising by our speaker finder, we found ourselves being addressed by our newest member, Rotarian John Legg.

Whilst we knew a little about John from his former membership of the RC of Kempston, we were not prepared for what John had to tell us today.

He told us his whole life story from his beginnings in the East End to his retirement in Bedford. His first recollections were being evacuated to Somerset and acquiring the nickname of ‘Little Dibble’.

But there is too much to tell in this little note. Suffice it to say as President Anthony did, “The best stories come from our own members”.
