Club Activities

The Rotary Club of Bedford aims to maintain its membership numbers aroud seventy. This involves recruiting new members from local businesses and service providers on a continuous basis, from in and around Bedford.  A list of current members and of members past and present can be viewed as can a photograph of our members taken in 2003 at the Celebration of our our 80th Charter. Just click on the Club Activities button above to link to these pages.

Rotary is there to be enjoyed and we certainly have fun at our weekly meetings, which are arranged to meet the interests of members. Speakers are usually drawn from the business or professional world and are interspersed with others covering Rotary activities, Charities or interesting leisure topics.

Members' primary aim is to enjoy working together on projects for the benefit of the local and international community.

Projects currently in hand include working to provide money and practical help to a Mission just outside Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Helping St Johns Moggerhanger financially through various fund raising activities; The Auction of Promises held in January 2009 raised £11,000 for St Johns and Project 299 in Kempston.

On 4th May 2007 our Club was presented with the RIBI Award for the best Magazine in Great Britain and Ireland and we still maintain and Magazine of the highest quality. In fact we have won the competition for the best magazine in District 1070 almost every other year - we are justly proud of our magazine.
